Opportunity

Yarra City Council’s Room to Create Program, in partnership with Lord Mayors Charitable Foundation, with support from Collingwood Yards, are inviting artists and groups to apply for a subsidised studio space at the Room to Create Studios at Collingwood Yards.

This is an exciting opportunity for artists in need of space to be based at Collingwood Yards for 18 months, joining scores of artists and independent arts organisations working across music, visual arts, performance, digital media, and other creative industries.

In this second term of the program, the Room to Create Studios at Collingwood Yards will continue to offer six fixed term studio leases at a heavily subsidised rate. We are seeking an Expression of Interest from visual artists who will utilise this opportunity to develop their practice in affordable studio space, available from 3 Jan 2022.

The six 13m2 (average) studios are housed within a natural light filled, partitioned space, located on the top floor of the Perry Street building, 30 Perry Street, Collingwood. Each studio is priced at a fixed rate of $200 per month for the duration of the lease.

Spanning over 6500sqm, the site consists of three buildings and a leafy central courtyard and is located in one of Australia’s most diverse, rapidly transforming and dense inner city neighbourhoods, Collingwood. View the walkthrough of our studios here.

Applications open Thursday 23 September 2021 and close at 11.59pm on Tuesday 19 October 2021.
