Tactile signage can be found at lift shafts and near entrances 35A, 35B, Johnston Street and 30A Perry Street. On entering via Entrance 35A Johnston Street a tactile map is located on the right side of the left hand passageway. If you enter via 35B a tactile map is several metres past the doorway and on the immediate left. If you enter via 30A Perry Street a tactile map is available in the under cover passage way on the second column.
Tactile signage is available on the lift shafts on each level. The signage is on the right hand side of the lift doors and indicates what is on each level of the building.
Tactile indicators are at the edge of the Escarpement steps. The Escarpement steps are steep and not recommended for people with visual impairment.
Braille signage is available outside all toilets, close to all exit points and inside all lifts. See below for an example of the Braille signage at exit points.
There are three lifts on site. Each lift is named according to the building that it services.
The Perry Street Lift is located at the southern end of the Building and is most directly access from entry 30A. This lift services UG, L1 and L2 of the Perry Street Building. The lift open onto open walkways. No swipe card or key is needed to operate the Perry Street Lift.
The Johnston Street Lift is located at the midpoint of the Johnston Street Building. This lift is most directly accessed by entrance 35B Johnston Street. This lift opens onto open platforms. A swipe card may be needed to access level L1 Johnston Street Building from the lift platform, depending on the day and time of your visit. Please ensure that the tenant you are visiting is expecting you and has made provisions to meet you. No swipe card or key is needed to access levels UG or L2.
The Lock Lift is only for use by tenants of the Lock Building and their visitors. A swipe card is required to operate this lift.
An accessible parking bay is available for use by holders of a Disabled Persons permit. It is located near entrance 35C Johnston Street.
Service animals and guide dogs are welcome throughout Collingwood Yards at all times.
Social and leashed pets are usually welcome in outdoor areas. If visiting with your pet for an event, please check with the event organisers.
Exits from the Johnston Street Building to the courtyard and to the lift platforms are equipped with green Press-to-Exit buttons. There are no secure doors in the Perry Street Building, however some tenant spaces may have manual-only doors.
Accessible toilets are located throughout the precinct buildings.
Accessible toilets in the Johnston Street Building on UG and L1 are located toward the western end of the building and on the southern side of the corridor. On LG accessible toilets are located at the eastern end of the building, behind a yellow glass door, next to the Music Market co-working space. Accessible toilets on L2 are inside the rooftop bar, Runner Up.
Accessible toilets in the Perry Street Building are located in the northern end of the building. On UG they are located off the northern side of the service corridor. On L1 and L2 they are located behind blue manual double doors.
Various symbols are used across Collingwood Yards to indicate the type of toilet facilities available. Below you’ll find an explanation of these symbols.
The symbol above signifies a single occupant toilet at least 1930mm wide, equipped with a grab rail, press-to-exit buttons, a door width of at least 895mm. The letters RH or LH signify the side of the toilet that the grab rail is located on.
The symbol above signifies a multi-occupant toilet composed of a series of private cubicles and a row of basins in an open space. These cubicles are not wheelchair accessible. These toilets are gender neutral, meaning that all people are welcome to use them.

Entry 35A Johnston Street is wheelchair accessible. Entry 35A offers direct access to the Courtyard, Perry Street Building and Johnston Street Building UG and lift access to the Lock Building and all other levels. Neighbouring development works frequently disrupt access to this entrance when coming from Smith Street at the moment.
Entry 35B Johnston Street is wheelchair accessible. it offers direct access Johnston Street Building UG, the Johnston Street Lift and Lock Building L1. Lift access via the Johnston Street Lift or the Perry Street Lift is required to visit other buildings and levels.
Entry 35C Johnston Street is wheelchair accessible, however there is a shared path with vehicles for a short section between the street kerb and the gate. Entry 35C Johnston Street offers direct access to the accessible parking bay and Johnston Street LG and the Lock Building. Lift access via the Johnston Street Lift or the Perry Street Lift is required to visit other buildings and levels.
Entry 30A Perry Street is wheelchair accessible and offers direct access to the Courtyard, Perry Street Building UG and Johnston Street Building UG. Lift access is required to visit other buildings and levels.
Entry 30B is wheelchair accessible, however the pavement is in poor condition. This entryway offers direct access to Perry Street Building LG and and Johnston Street Building LG. Lift access is required to visit other buildings and levels.
