Omniversal Hum presents: Ryosuke Kiyasu at Hope St Radio

6pm, Wednesday, 24 January
Accessible Toilet
Wheelchair Accessible

Nearly four years in the making, the legendary Japanese avant-snare drummer Ryosuke Kiyasu performs in Naarm (Melbourne). A highly niche artist, Kiyasu is at the forefront of exploring the sonic possibilities of the snare drum and is deftly reimagining the concept of the ‘drum solo’.

Equal parts inspiring and confusing, Ryosuke Kiyasu is an enigmatic and intriguing energy in the modern music landscape. This highly anticipated performance is certainly one not to miss in the real!

Helen Grogan will perfrom an iteration of their ongoing work ‘CONCRETE ROOM (2002-)’.

Helen Grogan is a Naarm-based artist. Currently, they are conducting research on documentation cultures of performance, which includes spending time with De Appel in Amsterdam in 2023 and The Kitchen in New York City in 2024.

Muliti-disciplinary artist Kassie Junkeer will provide selected music throughout the night in the format of a DJ.
