un Projects x West Space presents: EBB AND FLOW: Queer/Migrant Intimacies
Please join us in conversation with EBB AND FLOW curator, Aziz Sohail, and selected artists, Thang Do and Mandeep Singh as they discuss the distinct propositions of migrant time and queer time that inform their practices.
Thang Do is a queer Vietnamese artist in Naarm/Melbourne whose sculptures and installations embody the human obsession with spectacles as means of escaping reality and fuelling hope.
Mandeep Singh is a South Asian artist in Naarm/Melbourne who employs experimental photography and sculpture to explore themes of cultural and personal memory.
This talk will be followed by poetic invocations from Parminder Kaur and Olivia Koh.
Parminder is a multifaceted artist, librarian, and poet whose creative journey centers on opening the heart chakra. Her work spans photography, video, and installation. Koh is an artist working in moving-image production and is the incoming guest editor of un Magazine 18.4: Good Grief.
Alongside these readings and conversation, artist Andrea Illés will be performing her evolutive work, sorry I was so hungry. From 4pm, Illés will be visible from a humble computer screen, sitting on the threshold between the office and the gallery. The work will be activated by a performance viewable both in-person in Andrea’s West Space studio and transcribed by a screen in the gallery.

Accessibility
Floor access to the Perry Street Building can be made via the following paths. From 30A Perry Street, a footpath leads to the retail area of Perry St (UG) and courtyard. The Perry Street Lift can be accessed via 30A and 30B Perry Street, allowing access to levels 1 and 2 of Perry Street Building. From Johnston Street access to Perry St Building can be made by crossing the courtyard.
Accessible toilets are located in three areas within the Perry Street Building. On the Upper Ground Level (Level UG) the accessible toilets are located in the service corridor in the northern part of the Building. near the staircase. These toilets are open throughout event hours. On L1 and L2 the toilets are located in the northern part of the building, behind heavy manual blue double doors. All accessible toilets are equipped with manual locks, exit buttons and grab rails.
