SZILVASSY  is the ceramic studio of Shari Lowndes ~ an Australian born female artist, with Italian, French, Portuguese, Austrian, Greek, Egyptian lineage. Working predominantly with clay, her interest is of embedding narratives of land, heritage and environmental subject matter to her works.

To blur the line between artefact and everyday object.

‘The pursuit of beauty through poetry of form.’

In 2014 Shari began an uderstudy with revered Australian artist Shane Kent, whose craft was honed in the enigmatic landscapes of Japan. After four years of study, Szilvassy was realised.

Shari has sustained a practice through various commissions and ongoing private sales and is currently initiating new collaborations and cultivating a body of work with aspirations for local and international exhibitions.

The Studio will be open by appointment and on selected days to the public.
